Academic Upliftment Programme: Empowering the Next Generation

Providing targeted academic mentorship, educational assistance, and development opportunities to selected Tamil Medium students, with ambitious goals for O/L and A/L excellence.
Investing in Student Potential
The Tamil Medium Past Students’ Society (TMPSS) believes that every student deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Recognising the importance of strengthening academic performance, TMPSS is developing a structured Academic Upliftment Programme to support selected students of D. S. Senanayake College's Tamil Medium section.
Our Academic Goals
The programme aims to establish a focused support system for 33 students in Grades 10 to 13, combining academic guidance with targeted assistance.
Key objectives include:
- Providing mentorship and academic support to selected students.
- Assisting students from underprivileged backgrounds.
- Offering advanced guidance to high-performing students.
- Working towards 5 to 10 students achieving nine A passes at the G.C.E. O/L examination within two years.
- Working towards 3 to 5 students achieving three A passes at the G.C.E. A/L examination within two years.
- Building towards the achievement of island-ranking students from the Tamil Medium section within five years.
These are programme targets that will require sustained commitment, suitable educational resources, and collaboration with teachers, alumni, and other education partners.
How You Can Make a Difference
The success of this programme depends on a community that believes in the potential of its young people.
We invite past students, education professionals, corporate partners, and philanthropists to contribute towards academic resources, mentorship, educational assistance, and student development activities.
Your support can help a student overcome a challenge, reach an academic milestone, and build a brighter future.
